I would obviously not approve the experiments performed on animals, because I think that animals and humans are alike. I tend to emphasis on the fact that animals and plants are very different. The only thing animal’s lack and that differentiates them from humans, is a mind. I also think that nutrition is shared by all natural living organisms but animals have perception, and natural organism’s humans alone have mind. The mind is exclusively a human property. However, I think I would never do any animal experimentation. What I try to say is that any creature with reason will also have perception; any creature with perception will also have the ability to take on nutrition and to reproduce; but theconverse does not hold. Also the difference between plant, human and animals is that plants show up with only the nutritive soul, animals have both perceptual and nutritive faculties, and humans have all three. In other words it means animals are very close to humans, only lacking one step which is reason, as I mention before. Also, to distinguish animals from plants, I stressed thatperception is the capacity of the soul which distinguishes animals from plantsand that having a perceptive ability is decisive of being an animal.
An example would be a dog knowing his master, the dog will immediately recognize his master, and this is due to their perception, thing that plants can’t do. In other words this is why I think that animals and humans are alike. So I consider animal treatment and experimentation as something on ethical. Therefore, eating meat is not ethical either, because that will be as eating a human being.

I would have to agree with you completely, although humans and animals do not differ in having a mind, but in the previous, having the ability to rationalize with it. As I defended Bentham and his opinion that it is as much a moral duty to regard the pleasures and pains of other animals as those of human beings. I myself am a strong advocate for animal rights and believe that the day will come when all the animals will receive the rights that were deprived to them by the hand of tyrants.
