War or peace?

Could war be considered moral or immoral? Something is only viewed as moral if a large group of individuals receive benefits from it. Is war something that will benefit Society as a whole? The answer would be no, war is an undesirable act, that only brings death and suffering to society. Many wars have been fought through out history, where millions of innocent individuals have lost their lives. Situation, that only leads to more social conflicts between people and nations. In this type of circumstances war would be judged as something immoral since many people are been killed, but it depends of its utility. In other cases war could be considered ethical when the final resolution of the struggle will bring harmony to the majority of society. For example, destroying communist regimes where people have no rights or votes, in this circumstances, war might be necessary for the people to free themselves from totalitarianism. Even though some individuals might be victims of the outcome, war served as a tool to free a society. The only things that matter are the final results of the situation. This means it depends on the individual perspective or the usefulness war has in the lives of the majority of the community. So the answer of the previous question relies on its utility. War is only and just only considered as ethical if it is beneficial to the society as a whole. As a utilitarian I believe that the moral choices made in society have to perceive the good effects of the situation.
