Is it okay to lie, cheat or steal? Some other people might say that it is or that depending on the circumstance it can be accepted. I say that it is never okay to lie, cheat or steal. There mght not be any man-made law against lying, but there is a much more important one. The laws that God made for us to follow, the Ten Commandments. There is no clear commandment against lying where it is specifically prohibited but it is clearly something that is immoral and would be frowned upon in the eyes of God. There is also no clear commandment against cheating, but it is also immoral and I have absolutely no doubt that it would also be frowned upon in the eyes of God, maybe even more than lying. For stealing there are man-made laws and Holy laws against it, the eighth commandment states: You shall not steal. This is a clear commandment that no people should have trouble deciphering. There are also very clear man-made laws against it. In the case that someone should commit these sin/crimes, one should go to a church, find a priest and ask for a confession immediately, they should do this without any fear of being prosecuted by the authorities since in the view of the Roman Catholic Church, the Holy laws are above any man-made laws and forgiveness and repent in the ayes of God is more important than earthly punishment. The priests are all sworn to secrecy and cannot tell anyone what is said in confession, therefore there should be no fear of later going to jail.
- Thomas Aquinas
True Roman Catholic church is often based on hypocrisy and the will of those who preach it, not what was actually intended.
