Death penalty has always caused certain dilemma due to the fact that some people don’t believe someone has the right to take away life. Instead of killing every criminal who is sentenced to jail, we should study them and try to understand their nature and learn how society and certain genes make them act that way. This can help us understand how we can adjust society in order to prevent criminals to form. Killing criminals won’t help us in the long term, but learning from them and being able to understand their behavior, can actually benefit us in the long term. Many of the criminals that are sentenced to death penalty are mentally instable; learning what causes this to happen can help us improve human welfare in the world so that people won’t want to kill. Violence has become very common because media has made it so accessible for people. The has lead us to become very apathetic to the suffering of others, which in the long term can actually create more serial killers because they won’t respect or care about human life. Studying humanity in every aspect will help us not only to evolve physically, but also mentally. The more we learn and understand criminals, the more we can apply our knowledge to save many lives in the future.
