Euthanasia (Do humans have the right to end their lives if terminally ill?)
Humans have the right to choose if they want to live or die. If the person can choose to live or die they should choose what benefits the society. If someone is terminally ill should they live or die? First the individual should think about how their loved ones would feel for his/her death. Because of the pain and the suffering their loved ones might feel if he/she dies, a person may choose to continue living even though they might make an individual choice to die if such considerations did not exist. But, a person could also chose to die because of the pain and financial burdens that the family or society might have to bear with. They could be so big that even though the individual wants to continue living, it would be best for the family or society if they die, that the individual should choose to die. If the individual is unable to decide if he or she can live or die and the family needs to choose for them, then the family should choose what benefits the majority. They may decide that it is harmful to society to weaken the value of life, and that if there is a possibility of saving life, in any condition, it should be done for the good of everyone. However, the family could also choose the death of the individual. They may think that society would be forced to bear with the financial burden of the person utilizing such expensive medical care, and that those resources could be used for someone who still has hope of living. “We must examine the practice to determine if it increases the overall good in order to determine if it is ethical.”

No I agree but at the same time I disagree because I think that people seeking death are weak and depraved.I tend to see a suicide not from an ethical standpoint, but from the viewpoint of the law. To commit suicide is to do oneself an injustice. To committ suicide is a criminal offence, except when the act is committed under judicial order, when one is being forced by an unavoidable misfortune or when one is so disgraced that life has become unbearable.
ReplyDeleteI agree because we are all free to choose our own fate and don't rely on anyone. It is our decisions what will lead us to our own destiny.
